La Villa - great food and skiing
This was our second year going to La Villa over Christmas. Both times we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend it. The ski runs are for all skill types. This year we did the Sella Ronda and the Hidden Valley. Both not to be missed if you are a slightly more advanced skier. We also didn’t have a bad meal the entire time.
What an excellent resort! Slightly off the main ski circuit, but a beautiful place to ski - highly recommend,
La Villa is the heart of Alta Badia
Cultures meet here. Old Ladin and younger German and Italian are mixed with the language of tourism. You can walk, climb or use your bike in summer and you can go skiing there in winter. You can choose any village for your stay but La Villa, Corvara and some other places are central. Round La Villa you have a net of cableways, ski lifts, gondolas and you need a week to visit all places and try any part of the hills around there. Some places are expensive – try to find some remote pensions or apartment houses or glamourous hotels if you have too much money. Don’t forget to visit Alpine huts, old churches and several museums of Ladin culture. For my taste winter visits are more interesting.
